                       Locos currently being overhauled

"Ellan Bee"
7 1/4" Gauge engine based at the East Herts Miniature Railway
has been stripped down for overhaul and I have been removing the boiler tubes ready for inspection.

The 20th and final flu tube being withdrawn from the front tubeplate.

Note the hole in this tube you can see the piece of studding going up the centre to the steel bush I made in order to withdraw the tube from the firebox tubeplate.
A view of the slide hammer used to withdraw all the tubes.

3 1/2" Gauge Juliet has been stripped down for Hydraulic test
and a re-paint.
The loco seen here after a light dusting of etch primer and is almost ready for spraying.
A view of the side tanks & cab also in primer.

5" Gauge "Ajax" is also currently ungoing a re-furb due to needing a hydraulic boiler test
and is also having a fresh paint job.

The strip down begins.

While the boiler is away I shall crack on with the rest of loco.

If you could do with help or advice with your own loco or traction engine etc please feel free to get in touch with me.
