Surely Not..!!! A Great Western 2-8-0 28XX Going For Scrap !!!!!

Current owners of No 2859 the "Llangollen Railway Great Western Loco Group" have decided have not only decided to part with the loco but are prepared to see it broken up if a buyer fails
to take it on. Built in 1918 it spent time based at Old Oak Common,Severn Tunnel Junction,
Pontypool Road but began life at Southall where it was also retired in 1964.
The loco is said to be around 75% complete which should be well worth restoring.

"Bahamas" Back On The Main Line..
Believe it not its been 14 years since Jubilee N0 45596 last ran and has been on static display at Oxenhope on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway ever since....It is the intention to bring "Bahamas" back to the main line within the next four years once the remaining £300,000 has been found  to fund the project....You can help bring this wonderful loco back to life by visiting www.Bahamas45596.co.uk for a slice of the action and donations to the Bahamas last blast appeal......
 
 
 

Polish Steam...Long may it live.

The popular Wolsztyn experiance has seen some changes over the years but most recentely its departure from PKP. A new company called "Wielkopolska Railways" is set to take over the running of steam from Wolsztyn and upkeep of the locos.Most of the loco repair work up to now had been done at Leszno works while smaller tasks could be carried out at Wolsztyn.It is looking like more loco repair will now be done between the two spreading the workload via both depots.

New build loco 4-6-0 patriot "The Unkown Warrior" has had the last of its driving wheels made with the view to having a rolling chassis by 2012. Apart from the many man hours it takes to complete such a task it is also down to cash and these days a great deal of..It is simply magic that the steam loco has had such an impact on a certain number of us human beings who will dedicate much of our lives to restoring steam but to now be building new loco's has always been a dream..If you would like to help see "The unknown Warrior" come to life you can download a donations and membership form from www.ims-patriot.org.uk and help bring another wonderfull loco to life.

15" New build loco "Bunty" is now in action at the Heatherslaw Light Railway..
The 2-6-0 was completed by Allan Keef LTD after a five year construction started by the founder Nevile Smith who sadly past away.. The engine has now been approved to enter traffic at the line and is now set to tackle the railways 1 in 30 gradients...
 
 
2-6-4T  80150 Leaves Barry For The "Mid Hants Railway".
The last standard tank loco to leave barry island
has now gone to the "Mid Hants Railway" in hampshire for complete restoration to working order. The loco built in 1957 only ran for some eight years before being laid up.
